"Energy"

Energy.....have you heard that word going around a lot lately? It seems to be the new age buzz word in this texturous New Miilenium. In fact, it might be a word that is over-stepping its boundaries in the context of human vocabulary. It seems to me to be a word that is used to replace the actual words that the speaker really might want to say. "I liked the energy of that restaurant." Come on! An interesting conversationalist might actually comment on the color, decor, food, and service. An interesting person might even take their communication one step further by saying, "I liked the feeling I had when I was in there." (and then actually describe and own the feeling!) The dark side of excessive use of the word "energy" is when it is used in judgemental statements but used to instead create the illusion of other-worldly higher-mindedness. Come on! The light side of "energy" is its sincere use when describing prana, and the life ingredients that are truly tangile yet invisible to the eye. When my Reiki teacher says "energy", it is so beautiful and the intent is very clear and benevolent. So, sweet yogis, I present you this challenge: Refrain from using the word "energy" in replacement for your actual thoughts, observations and emotions. Although we all possess intuition and Third Eye potential, no one has a magic antenna that can assess the value and quality of a place, person, or thing by claiming to know its "energy" in a fell-swoop of 3 little syllables! Communication can be more fun that that anyway. Show the world your Texas-sized vocabulary! In texturous love, Zan
