OWNER OF ZANZILLA: ZAN FERRIS
Zan was initiated into Transcendental Meditation as a child, and in 1997 fulfilled a lifelong desire to visit India and study yoga by completing the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training course in Neyyar Dam, India. Upon returning, she studied with Erich Schiffmann, Scott Blossom, Paul Grilley, Judi Flannery, Judith Loftus and Steve Dwelley. Zan has taught over ?10,000 documented yoga classes in the past 14 years, and opened ZanZilla in March of 2005. She completed the Restorative Exercise Institute's RES training in Spring 2011. Zan is prompted by a spontaneous quality, and feels that the true transmission of yoga occurs outside of linear time, and in a manner that transcends the five senses. 2011 update: Voted Best Yoga Teacher in Ventura County (VCR readers'poll), requested to be "retired" from that event as will no longer accept votes. She named the studio "ZanZilla" in a characteristic bout of goofing around.
